I know the OP is bashing MePo a little with this post but there is no need to bash back. Its frustrating which ever side of the fence you sit on.
I was surprised the other day actually when I installed 1.3.0 Beta, my system was a bit of a mess so I took a full OS re install before hand but has helpfully forgotten to back up my MePo settings.
Took me around an hour to get plugins installed, settings all sorted tested and set again. This does not include the time spent adding my media as those are going to take a while anyway. This was also only a client so was a pretty simple install
I have had a few years of experience with MePo and it was a struggle. Wiki on the other hand is awesome.
I also tried XBMC which was easier out of the box looked prettier (even better than Titan). But Live TV is way behind MePo.
Reason I stayed with MePo is because it does all those little things you find out you want but did not know it.
If the OP would like to have another crack at MePo then I would suggest they go for 1.3.0 Beta and accept the option to install LAV bash your way best you can through the quick setup guide and ask any questions you have we will all do our best to help.
