    Hi again

Well I managed to find 3 hours of quiet so I managed to put together a DLL that uses the proper KNC DiSEqC methods. In fact there are two DLLs with a very slight difference between them. Can you please try them? This time what I need you to do is to actually attempt to tune channel(s). I don't know how many ports on your switch are used but it would be helpful to try to tune one channel on each port. The channel changing may be slow or not work at all, but don't worry about that for the moment. I first want to see if the code works...

    Hi mm

If you think you still have other options to explore, I'm happy to keep trying them out for you.

I won't have much time this weekend but I should be able to give you some results on Monday.

Hopefully you'll be too busy celebrating your place in the finals to have much time for mediaportal for the rest of today (Sunday) anyway ;)

    Hi again,

I actually have 2 quad LNBs (one each for Astra1 & Astra2) connected to the first 2 ports on each of 4 switches. If I have understood you correctly, you want me to tune to a channel on Astra1 (Level1AA) then one on Astra2 (Level1AB) on the same tuner/switch?

Logs attached are for the "before" dll (I actually tried an SD and an HD channel on each satellite).

    Hi again

Well, unfortunately that code was completely useless - it didn't work at all. I've got one more idea before I need to either talk to KNC or give up. This time you'll also need the attached KNCBDACTRL.dll - make sure you take a backup of the existing one in your TV Server install folder before you replace it and also make sure you have the VC++ 2010 redistributable from -->here<-- installed. Test procedure for these DLLs is the same as the previous two.

*Thank you* for your willingness to test - hopefully this time we will be successful!

No worries. I already have the VC++ 2010 redist installed.

Logs attached again - same procedure as before.

    Hi again

I've now contacted KNC and it turns out that some of the documentation that they gave me wasn't correct for the Twin. A little frustrating - I'm sorry I wasted your time. I will try to put together another DLL or two over the next couple of days.

*Thank you* again for your help and patience. :D

Don't worry about it - just let me know when you have the next version ready to try.

I've had the benefit of MP for years, if a few minutes of my time can be of any value to the project now I think it's the least I can do ;)

    Hi Guys,

I have the same tv-card and the same problems. I also try to use the card with a cam module for watching pay tv. As you figured; it doesnt work. So... if i can help you guys to get it to work, i would be pleased to.

I have the latest version of MP installed v1.2.1.

The bundled software "GlobeTV" works like a dream including cam support so the hardware is OK.
But it's not MP, GlobeTv is for rocketscientists.

    Greetz Jean:)

    Hi and welcome Jean :)

Definitely try the DLL from -->here<--.

    1. Stop TV Server.
    2. Take a backup of the TVLibrary.dll in your TV Server install folder (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server).
    3. Download and extract the DLL from the linked post into your TV Server install folder.
    4. Start TV Server.

Also, you need to use the "DVBS" network provider instead of the "generic" one as described -->here<-- (preferred network provider).

Tuning will definitely work and the CAM *may* work after that. If the CAM doesn't work then I already have some clues from KNC - I will incorporate their advice in the next DLL for you and chr0non to try.

    Best regards,
    mm
PS: don't forget to enable the CAM in the tuner settings (same place as the preferred network provider setting).
