Hi mm,

Channel tuning does partially work now.
I have used DiSeqc settings "Level1AA" and "Level1AB" for two sat's to scan.
But since i've got 4 dual LNB's it seems to me i need "Level1AC" en "Level1AD" also.
For the other tuner the same "Level1B (A,B,C,D) i think.

With DiSeqc on SimpleA or B nothing is found!

The cam still not recognized.

    Hi again Jean

This is a DiSEqC 1.0 switch with four ports?
If so, then it works like this:

    Port 1 = Level1AA
    Port 2 = Level1AB
    Port 3 = Level1BA
    Port 4 = Level1BB

    "Level1" means DiSEqC 1.0
    The next letter is "option".
    The last letter is "position".

    The cam still not recognized.
    Okay.

    Hi mm,

I think youre right, it's scanning now and the first channels are found on LNB3.
But i see a lot of "No signal" and "Nothing found".
    On LNB4 nothing is found.
Something is not right in the process.
The tuner found a total of 31 Tv channels on LNB3 and LNB4 wich are the Astra 3 and the Eurobird (astra 2) sattelite.
Maybe you can look into this.

I'll try to post the tv log so you can see what's happening

    Hallo MM,

Yesterday i performed a new scan on all sattelites.
And a lot of channels were found, so maybe thats all right now.:D

Then only the cam problem remains:confused:

    Hi chr0non and JeanBuilder

    I hope you've had a good week! :)
I've received a detailed response to my questions from KNC which has been very helpful. As a result I have 3 new DLLs for testing. These are aimed at getting the DiSEqC switching working more reliably and may also help Jean with the CI/CAM functions.

From now on, all DLLs that I provide will require the use of the KNCBDACTRL from -->here<--. As I said in that post, you also need the VC++2010 redistributable installed to use that DLL. There is a link in the post.

jean: how many CI slots do you have connected to the card?
I would like to test the response of the tuner to various situations:
    - when a CI slot is plugged in with no CAM
    - when a CI slot is plugged in with a CAM already inserted
    - when a CI slot is plugged in with a CAM already inserted, then the CAM is removed
    - when a CI slot is plugged in with no CAM, then the CAM is inserted

First please test whether the CAM can descramble channels with these new DLLs.

chr0non: KNC told me that they really don't like the Microsoft network providers. Part of the reason that the tuners may be unstable for you could very possibly be related to this - they have their own network provider that they use to get faster tuning times, so they may not test stability with the Microsoft ones. We also actually have an internal network provider that is under testing. I will provide it to you and tell you how to test it in the next couple of days. In the meantime, KNC recommend the use of the DVBS network provider (as we have already discovered).

    Best regards,
    mm

    Hi mm,

sorry to jump in here. Is it possible that these modified dll also give some benefit for the single tuner KNC One? Are your modifications only for diseqc problems or also for decrypting channels.

    :D in advance

    Hi MM,

Thanks for the work you have done.
I'll try to test these dll's today.
I have one CI-module attached to the KNC card.
If you like to test with two CI-modules i can also order an extra one.

    I'll be back.

    Hi Django

I had not forgotten about your thread - it has just taken some time to get detailed information from KNC about their new DLL. I'm learning quite a lot about their cards from what they tell me - I just wish I had one to test with. In answer to your questions:
    - yes these DLLs could help single tuner KNC one cards
    - at present I'm mostly focussed on DiSEqC but I will move to CAM/CI stuff in time

I would say one thing to you though - in the other thread I suggested that you try the DVB-S network provider but from your logs it doesn't look like you did that. The experiences with the Twin in this thread and the information that I received from KNC would suggest it is a ***very*** good idea to try the DVB-S network provider instead of the generic one. Please do it even if only for a few days - you may find that some of the issues you experience are solved by doing that.

jean: no need to order an extra CI module at this stage. Lets just get one working for a start and fix any existing problems in the code.

    mm
