I don't know if this is normal but I'd say not. Quite quickly after boot the memory usage for sqlsevr.exe goes upto 854MB !(!) I little bit high I think. Is this right or do I have a wrong setting or dodgy installation?

    there is an optional step in the intallation procedure where you set the maximum memory usage for SQL. Sounds like you have skipped that step.

    By default, SQL will try to use as much as possible.
