Suggestion: For wife approval, a better way to "start over" than to clear playlist.
Not sure what you mean? Are you talking about when you close MP or something else?

Maybe it's me, not you! :)

Say you're tired of the currently playing style of song, and wish to switch to something completely different. What I have been doing is clear the current playlist, and start a song in the new style.

Just press play on another track / album / genre in your collection and it will start playing and auto DJ mode will reset based on that track

@jameson_uk: as you seem to look into this again: any chance to have a look if your MusicInfoHandler can be fixed according to what @Sebastii found out?
Unfortunately I am not a mind reader ;)
I can find no details of what your issue is.

    I'm dissapointed ;)

I had a crashing MP with Last.FM and Musicinfohandler. This is what @Sebastii did for me and it works now in MP (at least no crashes anymore):

About The_Stig crash, it happen on : filter = filter.Replace("{dir}", "'" + Path.GetDirectoryName(tag.FileName) + "'"); in mediaportal\ProcessPlugins\LastFMScrobbler\LastFMScrobbler.cs. Der Pfad hat ein ungültiges Format / The path is not in legal form. Surely related to culture info Adding try / catch solve the crash but not the root cause lol

So maybe you can do the same in MusicInfoHandler? I am just guessing here.

But I still could do with seeing logs of the crash as Seb has put a workaround in but I need to see what the actual issue is.

That code is not in MusicInfoHandler so if there is an issue you are seeing with that plugin again I need to see logs

    Sorry, was lazy actually :)

Logs attached now. No debug logs as plugins gets disabled then. What I am seeing now is a "MediaPortal stopped responding" directly after a startup of MP when and if MusicInfoHandler is enabled. But still MP is working actually, means: I can turn on music and everything else. Reproducible. Installed is a 1.4 version with Sebastii's fixes for Last.FM plugin.

I am on the train now but I an fairly sure you are not running the latest version of the plugin. Please update it via MPEI
