Yes, it was related to g_player events not received.
Changed the code to listen also on BASS player events and it works now again.
From my view it is ready for 1.6 pre-release.

I agree we should get this into 1.6 Pre also, but as far as i understood from Mike, there are 2 or 3 things that need an update for both the allmusic & LastFM rework to be compatible.
Maybe you have an idea about this also?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but there are no settings anywhere for AutoDJ, is there? I really like the feature, but if you have multiple versions of the same song (studio version + live version) it can be inserted into the playlist too close for comfort. Example:

Artist A - Studio recording of track "Welcome to your life"
Artist B - Studio recording of track "Freedom"
Artist A - Live recording of track "Welcome to your life"
Artist C - Studio recording of track "Hello"
Artist B - Live recording of track - "Freedom"
Artist C - Remix of track "Hello"

I'm just saying, some filters would be really good for stuff like this. Also, (optionally) keeping tracks that are shorter than 1 minute out of the loop (album intros, skits etc) or tracks that are longer than 10 minutes would be a huge improvement. I have very little experience with this awesome AutoDJ feature though, so if this is already implemented in some way that I fail to see, please let it be known.

Which plugin ? last.fm radio, last.fm scrobbler ? Need to make sure this is all properly documented, because I looked for an 'autodj' plugin.

This rework has 2 plugins updated:
Last.fm Radio
LastFMScrobbler

The LastFMScrobbler plugin does the announcing to Last.fm and this now has the AutoDJ function included.
so check the settings on the LastFMScrobbler plugin, and you're able to skip similar tracks, and set the announcements.

I thought it belongs to the setting 'avoid adding same track multiple times'. But the more I think of this the more I have to admit I am maybe wrong.
