ok, just switched from SAF as i was having sound issues after a system swap. I'm loving the simplicity of LAV!
However, I'm having a problem that my screen flickers black occasionally with videos using the ac1 codec. I'm using th latest version, .48, mp 1.2.2. AFAIK, latest everything. I also tried using different video drivers. It's got to be a MePo issue, as the same files work fine in VLC and even WMP. Any thoughts?

Nvidia Geforce 9200 on an nForce 8200 board. Acer Aspire x1301. I swapped out my Zotac id41. That thing just couldn't cut it. I'll switch to software only, thanks Tourettes. We'll see if it helps.

Ok, I was worried it was the card overheating, as it's an integrated card, but that doesn't seem to be the case. Starting Immortals, a large (10.3gb) file at 1920x1036 video using the avc1 codec, i can recreate the screen going black regularly, but the cpu temperature stayed between 60-63c and cpu spiked at 82%. Any ideas?

Just looked. Nothing like that there. There is a hybrid SLI option which is disabled. iGPU frame buffer control is set to auto and Spread Spectrum is enabled.

Try setting the iGPU frame buffer to manual & set it to the max (512MB).

You've said ac1 & avc1, do you mean VC1? Have you done a shift 1 to see exactly which codec is in use? You might need to use the W7 filter tweaker to make sure LAV is the preferred decoder.

I made the iGPU change - no difference. I did shift 1 and it says MS DTV-DVD. Where can i get the filter tweaker?
