Hi.

I've got a Imon USB VFD, the Imon VFD.exe software causes my pc to completely lock up.

The imon software itself works fine, but I am unable to use the VFD to it's full advantage.

Does anyone know of a fix for the program, or a way of making it work through MediaPortal?

Thanks in advance.

Tony.

Check the producers website and Q&A, maybe an update is what you need! http://www.soundgraph.com
I can report there is no problem running the plugin with the iMON VFD ;-)

Try one of the different Noritake drivers in my plugin. I'm not familiar with that display, so I don't know what connection it has or what protocol it uses...

I think the Noritake Itron T-Series VFD driver IS the correct one.
Try setting the TextMode Comm. Delay to 40. That is the value that LCDHype is using. After all, my plugin uses the LCDHype drivers for most of the displays, and this driver is one of them...

So, if it still doesn't work, try to get it to work in LCDHype first. The LCDHype forum is very helpful.

    Hope this helps,
    Joe

    feature request: Recording indicator

    Hai Joe,

My computer is not entirely for mediaportal only use.
So I would like to have an recording indicator.
Do you know if there is a 'recording' state property that your plugin can read?
I would like to show it when the main menu is on.
Even with the channel and show name.
Then I can change the ExternalDisplay.xml myself.
I'm still enjoying my 4 lines display very much.

Did you try to enable the PropertyBrowser? That shows all properties that are available in MP. Only properties that are set while the propertybrowser is running are visible, so you need to start a recording to see the new properties appear.

This may have been answered before, but...

How difficult is it to make true scrolling on some/all displays? I have an iMon VFD. If it only take characters, I guess it is impossible to have the text scroll 1 pixel at a time, but if direct access to the pixel matrix is possible (or maybe there is some "pixel shift" operation working on the local text buffer)?

    regards
    Knut
