I have just returned my compro e700 because i could not figure out a way to get it to work with Media portal. I am now in the market for a new card. I have been looking at the Leadtek WinFast DTV2300 H Has anyone used or know if this works with TV server Thanks

Why do i always cringe when someone looks for winfast cards DTV****H, not saying there bad, just that they seem to make them in to many flavours, which are never the same taste, see the amount of posts using search function regarding same card different moniker (name), so when installed MP does not recognise it.

Hauppauge do a very similar spec card HVR1300, which has onboard HW encoding, or maybe even the HVR2200.

This is an absolute true.
If you don't know how to use graph editor and don't know how to find a correct moniker and don't intend to use TV Server, stay away from the card.
I have the card and it took me few days to figure out how to make it recognisable by MP (not TV Server). The problem gets even worth if you update the card drivers, you have to look for a new moniker.
From the other hand, installing TV Server will make you happy. TV Server recognises the card no matter which drivers version you have installed.
And the card performance is pretty impressive, considering its cost (check MSY prices). I am very much happy that I got the card.

Sure, people will be able to help you out, just don't expect to see a ready made solution here as very few people around don't use TVserver. Personally I would strongly suggest you to use it and the card will be recognised.
If you still want to use Mp without servere, then again nobody will give you the exact file to suit your tuner card as it was found long time ago even people have the same tuner didn't make the file interchangeable, as Paranoid Delusion explained in his post.
Anyway, I can give you a brief explanation of what you will need to do and then you will have to use search button here to look for some more detailed explanations.
Your goal is to get your cardsdefinitions.html file edited to suit your card. You can open it using NotePad (this is the best option to maintain correct lines formatting during editing) and try to find your card function. Once you open the file you will understand what du I mean.
If you want be able to find it (it is possible), then have a look at closest to DTV2300H model, copy it and paste staright after the copied one. Change the card name to match yours, to avoid confussions. After that you need to follow exact procedures for moniker creation (use search function here) and hopefully after few edits your card will be identified.

Well, I can tell you the moment I started the server everything went smooth. My hybrid Leadteck card is just perfect.
