    TV is broken again.

When starting a recorded program there is a delay, then I see the screen refresh and then nothing. The same recorded TV file can be watched from my videos without a problem.

When starting live TV it takes very long for the image to show, when changing channel the screen blanks, long wait, then the last image from the previous channel shows frozen.

I had this exact same behavior about a month ago. Then after a week of trial and error I could only solve it with a fresh install of windows. But I can't be reinstalling every month or so ...

I have looked so long at the logs that I can see them in my sleep. Could someone who knows what to look for please have a look and get me on the right track?

I have added one set of logs for the life TV case and one set for the recorded TV case.

somewhere here in mediaportal.log it starts and immediately stops playing the recording, can anybody tell why?

I've got the same problem. In addition I have noticed that the decoder list for MPEG2 is missing the default decoders for MP.
Anyone know a solution to this problem!!

I'm glad at least some-one has the same issue ... (sorry Norseman).

In my case the standard MPEG2 decoders are in the list. I also have ffdshow installed, but the problem occurs using either.

Playing recorded TV through the Video section is no problem. Can some-one shed some light on the difference between playing recorded TV through the TV section versus playing it through the Video section. Maybe that could get us on the right track.

The bad thing is that this can only be solved with a fresh install of windows, that it happened on two different machines and that it is re-occuring. I only use this machine for MP. What is breaking windows?

Norseman: our systems have virtually nothing in common (only the 32" Samsung ). Strange.

Vdr: I also have a remote TV Server. But that's just about it when it comes to the common part.

A friend of mine has the same problem also.
I'm actually in charge of his piece, so I might have done something, but I have no idea of what that can be.

In every other way, everything works fine. I have no problems watching live TV, both SD and HD. Except when changing from an HD channel to an SD channel.
Then the picture freezes, but I get the sound. From what I have read, it's an known issue, which the excellent MP crew will fix I assume.

But as I was saying, the live TV part works - the recorded shows part not.

    Hi,

I have same kind of problem. I have TV-Server on separate PC and client on ASUS EB1501 with Windows 7. My other "test client" with Windows Vista is working fine. I bought that ASUS to be the new client HW and everything else than Live-TV and recordings are working fine. I'm able to see streams via VLC player but in MediaPortal screen is black.

Please see my logs from ASUS client. Server seems to be ok, because that "test client" works ok and streaming is also started for this ASUS client. It seems that stream is not even started to play for some reason, but why? Can someone help or suggest what should I try. I have tried with different codecs etc. but without success.

I can also confirm problems with recordings. Can't playback some recordings, but they work great watching from My Videos.

Running 1.1.0 beta on a dedicated TV server running WHS(Windows Home Server) and a WinXP SP3 client.

Dont't have any problems with LiveTV.
