simple fix
In ref to my earlier post
vista had multiple volume controls which were not shown by default and which do not have a name. They are just called something like "unknown volume" which were only available when watching a vid. I put MP in windowed mode and checked volume mixer and crancked everything up. I'm happy with everything now except for some power scheduler probs but thats another post.
