Hi,

I made a clean installation of MP 1.8 and I also tried 1.9 on my Notebook. My Notebook has no known issues, cause I'm using it every day (development, multimedia, games, etc.). It's a Dell XPS 17 L702x with Intel i5 and nVidia GT 550M.

If I start MediaPortal and try to start TV (multiseat configuration, which is working on my HTPC, so it's not a server issue) nothing happens. I only see the Titan Skin background for a very long time and then I see a black background. MP is not reacting anymore so I have to kill it with Task Manager.

LAV Filters are installed and working. I tried different hardware decoders in LAV Filter configuration. I also tried Microsoft DTV.

My system is up-to.date (Win 8.1 Update 1, latest drivers).

Any ideas? In the log files I see, that the tv stream is available and initialized, but it is not shown on screen. With VCL the stream is played without any issues.

Best regards,
Sascha

    Hello Sascha

Looks like a firewall issue to me. MP/TsReader are not able to receive the video/audio stream from your network.

    Thank you very much! :)

Strange thing is, that of course MP Setup added an entry to Windows Firewall, but it was only enabled for private Networks. Even though I'm connected to a private network, I had to enable public network to get it work :)

Would it be possible to catch this? E.g. with a timeout or first checking if the connection is available instead of freezing the application to let the user know why it is not working?
