I am experiencing random OTA Live TV Stutter (Picture/Sound Freeze then restart).

I am confused about posting error logs. Running a TV server and 2 clients. "Both clients experience stutter"

Both client PC's are identical except for sound card & Bluray player. Gateway SX2851-09e PC's

Do I need to post TV Client logs or server logs?

    Hi BadDadSam

Do I need to post TV Client logs or server logs?
    Both.

To get the client logs follow the procedure -->here<-- for reproducible problems.
To get the TV Server logs:
    1. Open TV Server configuration.
    2. Click "open log directory" in the top left hand corner.
    3. Zip up the files you find there and post the zip file here.

    Hi again BadDadSam

So it looks like this is a client playback or networking problem. I say that because I can see stream continuity/corruption errors in the client side TsReader logs but not in the TsWriter logs on the server. Well, I should say that was the case in that particular instance. I do see the same errors in some of the more historical server logs.

What happens if you skip back 15 or 30 seconds - does the skip/stutter occur in the same place?

To give you some idea: such things can be caused by something as simple as an HDD spinning up or down. It can be caused by more mundane things like a real-time scanner checking the timeshift files or more obscure things too like overheating components. Network and HDD related issues seem to be the most common causes.

1st :D for going over the logs.

Server is running 2 samsung 7200 rpm drives in a Raid 1 config.
    AMD Phenom II X4 945 3.0 Processor
    16 GB Memory

Do you know how I could capture hard drive activity on client & server to see if hard drives could be the issue?

I know Hulu is not the same as Live TV or watching a High Def movie off of server, but neither of those 2 ever stutter. Would that mean my network is OK?

Heat has never been a problem in server computer, it was my Main HTPC for 2 years, before I switched it to a dedicated server. Fresh install of W7 Ultimate when switched. MP server, AVG, Utorrent and Firefox are the only programs installed on server.

I captured these files tonight. Had a small stutter and skipped back -15 and it played thru the stutter. Then 5 seconds or so after that it had a hard stutter/freeze, I skipped back -30 and it stuttered in the exact same spots as before. I then shut down MP and grabbed the logs.

Thanks for the help :D, Maybe these logs will shed some more light.

I was recently troubleshooting a similar issue and it was driving me nuts. The fix was to use a separate Intel network card. The built-in NICs seem to just not handle the traffic required in my environment.
