Hi together,

i just build a TV Server from my old clients's hardware (see specs) and now I see BadSignalErrors every 30min, which causes stutters und jitters on the client. I have disabled the energy saving options of the WHS2011 and installed actual drivers. I don't think that i there are thermal problems, because tv card is only "hand warm".
Whats confuses me is the regular basis of 30min on which the errors occure. In the meantime everything is working well.

I hope someone has an idea :) You can find the logs of my server attached to this post.

Thanks in advance
Andy

    Hi Andy

I *strongly* suspect this is not bad signal - it is *far* too regular "like clockwork" every half hour for it to be that. :)
There are other things that can cause this that I would suspect first. In particular, anything that is heavily using the HDD at that time like a virus scanner or scheduled task of some kind. Maybe even an HDD waking from sleep. Try running MP in windowed mode close to the time of the "scheduled corruption" :)D) and use task manager to see what processes are running at that time - note CPU % and HDD light.

    Hi mm,

thx for your answer. This 30min schedule was exactly the thing which made me thinking that it's not a bad signal :)
Nevertheless it seems that it "healed" itself. It is not very satisfying but i have to and i can live with it :) Maybe it was some kind of indexing service of the WHS.
