Yes, the sleep command toggles on and off. I know this because that's how my current MCE remote works. The way that Watch TV button works sounds a bit confusing, but I'm sure I'll be able to figure it out once I start messing with it.
    It's not really confusing... I'm confusing .....

You can power on all the devices manually by selecting the device and pressing Power, but the WatchTV button can be programmed to do it for you.

to turn things on: Press WatchTV --> Device1 (TV) selected /power -->Device2 (Audio) selected /power -->Device3 (MP) selected /power
to turn things off: Press WatchTV --> sequence repeats

I'm assuming that I would tell MP in config that I'm using a MCE remote?
    Yes

Haha thanks for clearing that up! So, I think I get it now. I program the on/off sequences for each device into the power button. Then, I program the Watch TV button to press the power button for whatever devices I want and in what order I want.

In the harmony software you first add all your devices.
Then you create an activity, mine is named "MediaPortal".
In that activity you specify in what order stuff start and what buttons on the remote should be mapped to what unit/action.
I have a TV, my HTPC (MCE Remote 1039) and my AMP.
So when I hit "MediaPortal" button it start TV, AMP, HTPC.
And when I'm "in" this activity I have volume up/down mapped to the AMP, Channel up/down and all other stuff mapped to my MCE remote.

In MePo it's just the checkbox under remotes, use MCE Remote or Keyboard and enable MpTray.

You can download the software from Logitech for the remote and create an account and play with it right now, no need to wait for the physical remote. This way you can read up on the stuff and play before you really need it :)

    Good luck!

    Thanks for the advice guys!

So, I've been playing around with the remote, and I've noticed a serious lag with keypresses. Has anyone else noticed this? Is there a solution?

Like I wrote in my first post :google for speed up your logitech harmony and you will find all you need.
There is some things you can do, and the rest is just getting used to... it's not perfect but it does not annoy me anymore - I guess I got used to it :p

Thanks a lot for the tip! Yeah, the best I could find was reducing the latency settings on the remote. Unfortunately, Logitech won't allow me to do that myself for the 300, so I'm sending them an email to fix it for me.

Could you at the same time as why they create wonderful remotes with really crappy control/customising capabilities? :p

Haha it's funny you mention that. Somewhere in my search, I found an angry post from a Logitech customer complaining about those very things. The general response was that the Harmony 300 was meant to be a low-end product, and more advanced users should want the higher end stuff.

Forgive me for not wanting a screen on my remote to control yet another screen. >.>

Well, I don't need it to be perfect, but I find it silly to have to wait a second each time i press the up or down buttons. Makes navigation very aggravating.

I also need to figure out how to get two of the colored buttons to switch audio and subtitle tracks. I was spoiled with my last remote being able to do this by default. I'm sure there's a way, just need to figure it out. I tried setting two of the buttons to 'audio' and 'subtitle' in myharmony.com. but that had no effect. maybe the shortcutter plugin would help?
