Hi,

since doing a clean installation and switching from MP 1.0.2 to MP 1.1 Beta (+SVN), I have long delays when starting live tv. When activating live TV it takes about 30-40 seconds until I get to see the video. later on, switching between the channels goes fast as usual until I again stop live tv and restart it.

This trouble only appears, when using the PDVD9 codec for live TV (I am using latest SAF beta codecs, and have tested some other versions as well). When I switch to the gabest codec, the problem does not appear and live TV starts after some seconds. Checked the graphs, and the correct codecs are in there (ffdshow audio + cyberlink pdvd9), but it takes long time until I can connect to the graph. In the meantime of waiting I see lots of entrys saying "PlaneScene: PresentImage() dispose surfaces", until live tv finally starts.

I added the logs, but snipped out that part, where I am waiting for tv startup:

As the cyberlink codec supports dxva and draws a much better image than the gabest codec does, I hope anyone has a good idea what this is all about?!?

Regards,
Andre

    Hi!

    You're not alone.
    I've the same problem!
But I can't watch live TV with a cyberlink codec (HD is working great with cyberlink). I've sound but there's no picture. Only MPC works for me. If I take a look in the graph ... there's no pin connected to cyberlink nor VMR. Only sound pins are connected.

Hi - I have the exact same setup as you. Just with a dvb-c card and 4850E cpu. I had tried both win7 and win xp sp3 with powerdvd 9 codecs. When just booted i could watch tv just fine, but if I resumed from S3 sleep, it would take 30-40 seconds to find the channel the first time. Afterwards as you describe channel change is fine.
What i discovered is, that this seems to be a problem with the ati drivers in combination with powerdvd. I switched back to the 8.12 drivers and now tv is working again.
    Hope this helps you.

thx for this hint, herluf! may be that it is a problem in combination with the ati-software, as I updated it to the latest graphic driver version during reinstall of my system. Will try that tomorrow evening and give some feedback!

at first I updated the drivers to 9.10 which seemed to solve this issue, but it did not. Now its only sometimes, not everytime, that I need to wait so long .. will try to go back to 9.5 which worked for me before ... and will report

Think i tried 9.10 without succes as well. 9.4 might work. Havent tried 9.5. As i wrote i'm back to 8.12, this version has never caused me any trouble.

8.12 maybe working becouse they have broken DXVA :)
DXVA was fixed in 9.4 (and newer).

finally fixed it by reverting the ati driver back to 9.4 (9.9 and 9.10 seem to be broken, perhaps dxva-issues?).

9.4 works well for me now!
