When changing channels in the client machine, it takes around between 5 and 10 seconds to actually change the channel.

I can see that the TVServer changes the channel almost immediatelly trough the blasting, but the client takes much longer to actually start showing the image.

It's also worth mentioning that when the video begins, it begins exactly from the moment the channel changed in the STB, so it stays around 5 seconds behind of the actual live TV.

Expectation - To be able to watch the stream shortly (1 sec) after the channel was tuned (stb blasting in my case).

I had the same problems and I also read a post from a PVR500 user who had slow channel changing. It seems Frodo cannot reproduce the problem

Hi, I have the same problem,
with the new client server configuration (on single machine) when I switch channel with remote or keyboard, it freezes the picture a splitsecond(as if it should switch channel immediately), then rewind the same channel for 3-4 seconds, and then switches to the next channel.

I made same tests this afternoon to understand the origin of this problem because I remember that the first days I tried the new client server architecture channel switching was very fast.

So I reinstalled MP from scratch starting from version 0.2.0, than I tested all the SVN and TVServer rev. from 24-10-06 to 03-11-06.

Result of my test is that since SVN 11-01-2006--00-59-rev-11439 channel switch was very fast, than something change and the problem described at the beginnig of this post appears.

Hi

Well I see some instability as well( I know its still beta )
As is mentioned above, sometime the client hangs when changing channel.
Takes very long time to actually see the changed channel.
Sometimes it changes to another channel than is one click away.

I have the client and server on same PC.

Great job everybody! impressive.

I also tried the latest version again, but still it takes a long time (10 seconds) to change a channel (using a PVR150). Seems all analogue Hauppauge users have this problem (PVR150-250-350-500).

It could be. I don't know if Frodo have this type of card so he can repro this behavior.
