I have further managed to rework this problem and it seems to be a permissions error with sql lite once the database gets corrupted. I am not a code genius and got this workaround from someone else, sorry cant remember whch post, but it worked a treat. Open the sqllite browser which normaly is in the docs folder of mediaportal and open the tv database. Export the database to an sql file making sure to put the .sql extension on the file. Next import the sql file and create a new database and name it with the .db3 extension and save. Copy this new file to your database directory and rename the original tvdatabase 21.db3 file to somthing else incase it doesnt work and you need to try again, and then rename the imported database to replace the renamed one. Probably clear as mud are these instructions, but I did all this in under 3 mins and everything was back up and running sweet without loss of guide, scheduled programs, recodeed programs and tv tuning data. Hope this helps someone.
