It's fine on NVIDIA here, latest windows 10 updates and driver. I did the change exactly as per your instructions. Also played a few 23/24 films without problem. My default refresh is 50.

Not easily, my HTPC is somewhat builtin and getting to it and opening it up is not at all a simple task, sorry. Please note that my previous report of this problem here https://forum.team-mediaportal.com/threads/madvr-support-in-mp1.133972/page-206 was using my old GPU (AMD HD6770), is it the same problem?

@Sebastii I have not tried going back to v164 but is there anything in v165 that might have caused this, I know the problem is there regardless of whether MP is running or not but the fact that it can be fixed by running the MP video player but not MPC-HC is pointing at something I think. I found that once the refresh rate could be set to 50Hz setting the "Use my settings for this device" option under Windows Colour Settings Management at least meant that when a crash happened it would default to 50hz after reboot.

I hope so not, i don't think there is change about it

Not the very latest because i have removed (comment out some code, it create stutter when displaying OSD on my Nvidia GPU) so if you can test previous one to see if it's better and why not the latest after that

Ok now i also have a RX 460 and realised some problems. I used V165 and V166 and AMD Drivers 16.8.2 and 16.7.1.

• Normal Resolution 4k -> Starting 3D film in 1080p -> All is fine, the film starts with 1080p in 3D -> Stoping film, the sceen goes to 4k but with a black screen. So i can Alt F4 mediaportal, i hear the sounds. Broke this somehow while testing, now it stays in 4k and dont switch to 3D anymore
  
• Dynamic Refresh Rate Changer has no function in EVR and in MadVR (only 3D is switching back to 1080p, i think thats windows managed). I set that notifications are shown, but it is shown that he should switch to 1080i29, but it doesn't. Because Denon and TV are showing 4k in infos.
• MadVR display modes also have no effect.
  
• If i use MadVR and start a video (1080p, 4K, TV in SD) while its playing in fullscreen no frame drops. If i show up the info overlay from mediaportal or something other from mp, like topbar or so, it starts to stutter and i see frame drops. Saw this also with my old gpu, but thought it was performance related. Also i dont see this problem at all with evr.
  Maybe a hint. I had one test, in which the resolution was 1080p @ 23.9fps and the film source also was 1080p @ 23.9 fps. In this situation the the mp gui dont brought stutter.

I am bit frustrated for today

Please try to supply log when black screen and/or madvr freeze report (you can also try alt+enter to see if screen goes back)

About the stutter, it's normal (because MP enter in low latency mode when OSD/GUI/Topbar/Volume etc is displayed).
There is an option to not enter in latency mode (in MP config, you can give a try).

DRR should works when EVR is set and used (no read no madVR used ofc). For madVR, on my side if i didn't set correctly resolution/frequency, my projector didn't switch for example 1080/25 was not working but 1080/50 yes.

About 4k i have no clue lol

Looks to be the same failure, failure in logs shortly after 19:45. Ealier tried refresh rate change 50-24 and back to 50 crashed again. If you see anything in the logs please let me know.

Yep same issue (does it happen always on OV).

Can you try with Youtube video or something and tell me the step by step, it seems that i can't get BBC stream from here lol.
also, another bin, this time i'm trying to do the stop on C++ side instead of C# when madVR is used.
