[WiP] madVR support in MP1 (27 Viewers)

So far with the GTX1080 seeing no deinterlacing issues and with 24P content madVR indeed still reports 23,971 but they all have this which means 1 frame drop every x minutes according to madVR and isn't noticeable here as TVs have their own smoothing for 24P content
Driver wise in both camps it' s a mixed bag however Nvidia seems to have their shit together again in the latest drivers.

Just a short statement. Using madvr with no h264 accel and it runs really good.

No green screens with v226 till now (@joecrow), tested some 3D-files and looked some series and a bit tv.

Just a small point:
- Open MP with 1080p (could happen after restart, saw this also after some standby conditions)
- Switching TV on system goes to 4k. MP is fullscreen.
- Starting the movie, it shows only a quarter part of gui and movie. See screenshot.

Closing MP and opening it again, all is fine again. I also see sometimes a bit strange behaviour if i start and stop shortly after start.

Good to know that, I'm still seeing green screens with v209 which I reverted back to after a number of zapping problems with TV and v226. So I may give v226 another go.
The no h264 accel. is still working well for me also, however when I try to make setting changes to "Image Upscaling" in Madvr, as a troubleshooting test for the green screen, anything other than DXVA2 seems to crash MP or Madvr despite rendering times below 25ms. Not sure if that has anything to do with the deselection of h264 accel. but I don't remember that being so sensitive previously.
I do believe that the RX 460 should be more than adequate for my HTPC but clearly at this point in time drivers still need some tweaks, but I do have an opportunity to borrow a Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti for the weekend and it will be very interesting to see how it compares. I'll let you know.

I have installed v226 and can confirm a problem it is not a zapping problem per se, but is looking like a further symptom of the long stop problem. The longer I play a non-HD channel (Not a problem with HD channels) the longer it takes to get back to the gui after stop, and the longer it takes to change channel, why I thought it was a zapping issue, initially. LAV does show HW accel. active even though h264 is deselected.
In the attached log
13:06 TV stop playback of non-HD channel, black screen for approx. 25s before return to Gui.
13:25 Playing non-HD then zap to HD channel, old channel vid freezes with new channel audio after ca 2s then new channel vid after ca 15s
13:59 Playing non-HD then zap to non-HD channel, old channel vid freezes with new channel audio after ca 2s then new channel vid after ca 20s

Having established a method of reproducing the problem I went back to v209 just to double check, I just installed the older version over the top of v226 and have exactly the same problem.
So now I'm not at all certain if the problem was there in my original v209 which was installed on top of the HEVC thread version or whether something leftover from the v226 upgrade is causing the problem.
I will try and go back to basic HEVC +v209 and report back.

Same in base HEVC branch, so for sure just the Long Stop problem rearing its ugly head in something else.

Yes, HEVC branch only with Copy Back selected in LAV and obviously no Madvr.

I finally got a chance to try out the Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti. It installed without any difficulties and I was able, after quite a lot of playing arround, to get 3D working ( MKV/MVC), enabling the "Force MP Reset (for 3D)" was what finally got it going, haven't tried PowerDVD yet though.
Nice pq with pretty much default settings, no long stop problem and it even resets the refresh rate back to 50hz after stopping 3D playback. At the moment the only problem I have is it does not put the TV and AVR to sleep via the Pulse 8 CEC HDMI adaptor and the CEC Remote plugin. Hopefully that just settings.
I like it. I'll keep you posted.

That's from USB rather than the 1050. It should still work fine (I have one too ). it doesn't work alongside a HDMI Doctor, but you can have 2 HDMI: one from the GPU into the AV for sound and picture and one from the Pulse8 (which doesn't need to plug into PC except via USB) to an unused port on the AV for CEC only.

I'll give that a try if I have to, currently the HDMI is daisy chained through the USB HDMI CEC adaptor to AVR then TV. When the HTPC resumes from sleep it does wake the TV and AVR up if I have manually put them in standby and testing with the Libec tray app. will put them to sleep.
Is that HDMI Doctor part of the Nvidia driver package?? I did note that it detected the HDMI CEC adaptor as an HMI switch when I looked in the HDCP status from the Nvidia Control Panel.
