Regarding NVidia CUVID and Intel QuickSync Nevcariel said recently that he is thinking of removing both options as he considers them outdated.

Yes I'm inclined to agree but it is a real nuisance that my Nvidia GPU is so prone to catastophic failure without cuvid.

he new D3D11 DXVA decoder that he implemented in one of his latest nightly builds is as per him the way to go.

I 've had a quick play with the D3D11 Decoder but ran into problems with hangs on zapping, not sure what other settings I need to aply given just an 8 bit 1080x1920 monitor. Suggestions most welcome.

I also remember something that might help you
Have you tried with lav copy back and gpu driver powersettings on adaptive or max? Because if I remember correctly, cuvid uses the full power gpu mode.
new dx11 native is still pretty fragile

Can you post log when it hang ?

Logs attached show channel changing OK with cuvid decoder then changed to D3D11, I then stopped playback and started TV again and attempted channel change, vid stopped with a still from old channel and the new channel info on screen, new channel audio played for a while then stopped when I tried a further channel change, then no more response and had to kill with task manager.

Have you tried with lav copy back and gpu driver powersettings on adaptive or max?

@joecrow are the tv channels interlaced? If they are i remember Nevcariel said that D3D11 is still not working right with interlaced material.

Will be able to push a V322 based on changed based on madshi comment
So need to test against OV / 3D stuff but for now and latest madVR 0.92.2, it didn't deadlock on fast playlist change or when doing a STOP right after starting to play something
I don't know if it will solve D3D11 issue but at least it's better
So doing some regression test on my side

@joecrow or it was a madvr issue with D3D11 and deinterlacing, i am not sure but there are still many issues with both latest madvr and lav nightly builds.
