Initially, when I was starting the TV-Server Configuration, I get the next error message "Microsoft SI/PSI parser outdated! - Your version 0.0.0.0 of Psisdecd.dll has too many bugs! There is something very strange about your operating system. According to the log file that you provided, the original tuner detection errors were caused by failure to find OS components that are included as standard with Windows for quite some time. The Psisdecd.dll does need to be updated for Windows XP as mentioned in our requirements (required updates), however it seems that your system previously didn't have any Psisdecd.dll at all. This is not normal.

Have you used NLite or some other software to reduce the OS bloat?
Are you certain that you have a genuine version of Windows?

I can try to help you further with the scanning issues but I suspect that you may encounter further problems if something is wrong with your operating system.

Then I tried to scan for channels, but I got "Unable to scan - Please install a supported audio/video encoder for your software analog card." and the scanning stopped.
I have to go now, but I will try to solve that next, I hope I find something in the forums here...

You need software encoders to convert the analog video and audio to digital MPEG format. Usually these are supplied by the tuner manufacturer, but unfortunately AVerMedia encoders are not compatible. You will need to find some from elsewhere. I suggest either the ATI encoders, or look here:

Thanks for your help.
My version of XP/MediaCenterXP could be strange... In an attempt to be able to switch sound channels on my version of Mediacenter, I uninstalled a "Rollup update 2 of Mediacenter", which made MC relatively unstable (but I do get to choose which language to watch my movies in now). Later attemps of reinstalling the update have failed. But I was able to install SP3. So I am not too surprised that some things could be missing...
While my version of MediaCenterXP is genuine, I only have self-saved "recovery disks" (thanks to Sony), but no realy systems disks. Due to the amount of things I installed and changed to my system (drive configuration, programs, etc.), I was trying to keep XP for as long as possible instead of resetting the system.
At the same time I am having some really big problems testing to finally move to Windows 7 (with a test installation not recognizing my graphics card), so I was not wanting to go there either.
So I hope that I will get this done, but with a bit of luck another day or two (weeks) should get me there (also hoping that my OS is less screwed up than you are afraid it is)... If I don't, I will either have to reset the system, or buy a new machine (mine is from about 2006, so it probably is at its end of "useful life").

This could indeed explain the missing components.

I fully understand your desire to avoid resetting the system, and I hope you are able to get the tuner working. Don't hesitate to ask if you run into more trouble.
