Fanart concept

We`re thinking about adding some fanart and eyecandy to maya. Called Maya iFX.
So here are some screenshots of a concept from my current maya installation.

I think it looks great. I love the addition of fanart to skins, that's why I now use StreamedMP. It looks really great with all the fanart. However I love the sleek and modern look of Maya. A combination of both is awesome.
I must say I really hoped that Mayaustica (spelling?) was developed further, that skin looked great too.

I will surely follow this and maybe even let it replace StreamedMP. I would like to see more: MovingPictures and the Music-section.

I think it looks really nice

It's how fan art should be, in the background but doesn't detract from the overall look and feel.

I agree with a previous comment on how great Maya looks but would love a similar integration of fanart in the music section.
If there is a way to get fanart in the latest skin please could someone enlighten me on how this is achieved.

i like your concept, can i suggest when going to the movie details view in moving pictures that you consider having "non faded" fanart for this screen.

PS. I also love how you are using the transparency title image for each series. if the image is not available does it just default to text?

We will use nonfaded fanart when possible. So the details screen of MovPic will stay as it was.

The designs will eventually be incorporated in the entire skin. (see the attachted mockups)
But it will be offered as a seperate skin.
So there will be two Maya's.

Have you considered something to make the currently selected item pop more?
eg. darken non-selected thumb nails, or halo around selected item
I think that with the current concept, it is hard to tell where you are in the thumbnail wall.
I know you have an inner halo, but i think outer halo makes it easier at a glance to know where you are in the thumbnail wall.
