I am using mc2xml and got everything working. My question is. The grabber only only populates some of my channel listings. The rest I have to do by hand. Is this normal?

Thanks:mad:

NO. The key to seting up is the initial setup of the mc2xml... you must select terrestrial or cable which do you have? Are you selecting the correct one for your needs? I don't recall if it's based on ZIP code or what but that's the first step in getting a 'complete' guide listing.

I use a "mc2xml.chl" file, Just make a text file with notepad and change the extension to ".chl" then list all your channels in the file and keep it in the same folder as "mc2xml.exe".

I'm on cable but it might to the trick for you too.

    How can we assist you?

I too use a .chl file to mimic/limit the number of channels it gathers from the web although this is NOT the case for the OP -- he is not receiving the full complement of channels in the list he is obtaining. That's why I suggested he take a look at his initial setup, or delete his mc2xml.dat file which would force him back to an initial state thereby allowing him another opportunity to select another "format" (Terrestrial city "A", Terrestrial city "B", Cable Provider "A", Cable Provider "B", Cable Provider "C", Satellite "A", Satellite "B", etc) from the options. It makes no sense that his guide would fail to include the full complement of stations he is actually receiving at his house! There are even ways to concant two listings using mc2xml - say if he's getting some stations from this city and others from another (city). Absent stations makes no sense and adding a .chl file will not magically cause them to show up in a devoid listing source.

We could assist (the OP) by knowing his ZIP code, the stations he's tuning, and the listings he's missing.

FYI, this is on the site about multiple listings:
Can I combine channels from multiple lineups and put them in one xml file?

If you are mindful of duplicate channels when creating your .chl files you can save your lineups to different .dat files and then chain them with the "-I xmlfile" insertion parameter

    mc2xml -D NL.dat -C NL.chl -o NL.xml
    mc2xml -D UK.dat -C UK.chl -I NL.xml -o UK_NL.xml
    mc2xml -D DE.dat -C DE.chl -I UK_NL.xml -o DE_UK_NL.xml
