Hi Boilermaker,

Thanks for all your work on the MCE skin. I think it's the best looking one.

I've been using MP 0.2.2 with your RC1 skin and I've noticed something odd in myHome.xml. The menu scrolling speed was way too fast for me (I use a mouse rather than a remote). I saw a message that said that the speed could be edited in myHome.xml. I tried this, but no matter what I put into scrollTime and scrollTimeMin, the scrolling speed didn't change. I tried the same thing in the Aqua skin and it worked. Comparing the two skins I saw that yours put the menu control in a control group whereas Aqua didn't. I hacked out your group and now I can control the scrolling speed as expected.

I'm a rank noobie on XML and MP programming so I have no clue if this is a real bug or where it is, but I thought I should tell you.

first, thanks for the compliments.

i use a mouse and keyboard almost all the time too. Some of the earliest problems others had with the skin were navigating with a remote because i never paid attention to it....anyway back on topic, i've had the same problems with the scroling speed on the home page. I tried to find a speed that wasn't too slow for the remote users, but was bearable for us mouse people. And in the process i've probably made nobody happy.

Would you mind attaching your myHome.xml to a reply? (change the extension to .txt so the attachment will be accepted). The only reason i put the scrolling stuff in a group was so that i didn't have to repeat the same code for animation over and over. I probably a little too tense about keeping my code tight, but it does make it easier to change thing quickly.

I have applied your updated mytvprogram.xml file from a couple of posts back but this screen is still not working for me. The panel top right that displays the upcoming episodes is blank.

Are you and blackheart42 having problems with the skin and the svn? That may explain some problems, i haven't even finished the skin for .2.2.0 yet. I'll move onto the svn sometime at the end of January....i'm still working out bugs for the regular .2.2.0 release.

MC, could you post the xml file from the svn version of regular bluretwo? I'll reskin mytvprogram from that, should fix any problems you are seeing.

You're welcome. In the next couple of days, i'm hoping to finish up on the second RC, this will be an executable installer with the usual configurable choices. The changes include:

• Fixes for some of the bugs created by going to a larger font
• slightly lighter background that doesn't drown out the rows of a list control
• reverting back to the traditional thumbnails
• updated icons; i haven't finished all of them, but comments on what has been done so far would be appreciated
• updating a few of the screens that missed getting animations (video editor for example)

ok, i found a control that seems to be added since the stable release. Its the channel name below the list. The channel name doesn't show up when i make the change and use it with .2.2.0 so i'm not absolutely positive it will all line up, but it should. Let me know if that solved the problem, there are other things i can try if it doesn't.

File is attached. All I did was comment out the 'group' part with no attempt to restore the functionality that I'd removed - REALLY a hack! But it did allow me to change the scroll speed and I haven't noticed any bad effects.

I saw your message to surfermc asking whether we were running on the SVN. Not in my case. MP V 0.2.2.0 - no SVNs. FYI, I had the same problem as surfermc with the blank panel in mytvprogram. The updated version fixed the problem for me.

Since you're getting ready for RC2 there's a couple of other things I wanted to mention.

First, I've noticed that the ALT key now returns you to the previous screen. Since ALT-ENTER is the only way to exit full screen, this doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

Second, while navigating with the mouse, I used to return to the previous screen by moving the mouse to the left edge of the screen and then right-clicking. Now this only works on a few pages. Since you haven't included support for topbar, is there another mouse-only way to return to the previous screen?

I can add an option to the skin's installer, one selection for people who use use a remote, and one for those who use a mouse. Choosing mouse navigation will for starters select a home screen with slower scrolling and i'll come up with a top bar. Other things can be added later if anybody thinks of something else.

. Interesting...the first one solved the problem for me...but since it doesn't matter either way i'll put the second one in the skin. That one worked too, just didn't display the added channel name.
