I'll download the newest version and update it possibly on friday, definitely by the weekend. It's great that the plugin is updated on a nearly daily basis...but downloading, installing and possibly skinning each version is kind of impossible.

After i update the xml, if you want to drop me a pm letting me know the plugin has changed enough to require reskinning, i'll be happy to do so.

Btw, i've found a couple of big errors with the .2.1.0 version of the skin and the svn-version; backgrounds missing, playlists not working being the two biggest. They've been fixed and new versions uploaded. Kind of concerned that nobody pointed these things out, seems to indicate a big dropoff in skin usage. Not surprised tho, there are other of good options out there now.

For the life of me, I can't seem to connect to the FTP server at knwd.net. Could someone mirror the current releases somewhere, or upload to a free filesharing site? I'd really appreciate it. Looks great.

i found an alternate location, it should all be set up on Saturday. Since I find and fix bugs almost daily and upload new versions, i was looking for a place more permanent than a free file sharing site. I apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

As soon as everything is set up and the installer is ready for download, i'll post to the thread again. I was also hoping to include an updated file for MP-TVSeries. I posted to the plugin thread about the problems i'm having reskinning the xml, however i've received no response yet.

    EDIT:
    Alternate download location here

There has been very little change to the skin for mp v .2.1.0; the link on the first page has the most recent file.

For the svn, i've haven't done very much over the last two weeks since animations were added to most screens fairly early. I'll look over the skin on Wednesday to make sure that every screen has animation support. The most significant changes are probably files added supporting the new tvserver and an attempt at skin mp-tvseries. So if you are waiting for a new svn version, check back on Thursday morning.

There will be at least one more release of the skin for the next full release of mp. Beyond that i can't say.

SVN versions of the skins uploaded to the server. See first post in thread for links.

For those who use MP-tvseries, it's best to leave the "automatically resize the height of the infopane...." box unchecked.

I love you skin, Boilermaker! Thanks a lot for it ;) Just installed it yesterday and really like the way you have done it :) The main reason for me to use the skin was the fact that I could choose number of lines in TV Guide.

However, I have few questions. When I start MP, the program loads, but it keeps the existing screen as a picture - so it looks like I am still seeing my desktop.. Using remote I can hear clicks, but nothing changes.. Then, only if I click on 'My TV' button on the remote, the UI will finally appear and I will see MP's UI and your skin.. Ok, so everything works.. If I try to play music, MP crashes.. Well, not a huge deal for the first time.. Watching videos is fine until I press "Stop" in the middle of the movie - the last movie frame is stuck on the screen until I press.... "My TV" button! ;) Any ideas why this would happen? I use 0.2.1.0 with your skin for that version (I think it was the first download link at the beginning of this thread.. Would appreciate your comments, because I want to keep using your skin.

Kind of sounds like what would happen if you used the .2.1.0 version of the skin with an SVN version of mp. For the start screen, home.xml was replaced with myhome.xml so that would explain why mp would look transparent. If you've mapped MyTV or MyMusic to remote keys, you could still get to those screens, but then crash because of the code changes in mp.

I'll reinstall mp .2.1.0 and download the skin from the server and run it to see if i can duplicate the problems with a setup closer to yours.

    EDIT:
I tried the .2.1.0 skin on a fresh install of mp .2.1.0 and it worked on my setup. I also tried using an SVN version of the skin on the same .2.1.0 install and it was messed up, but in a different way than yours (mp started in full screen showing the full screen TV with blank OSDs visible). Still looking for potential errors, but so far only the first scenario in this post fits what you've described.

Just to cover the bases, could you list the choices you made during the installer (icons/no icons, etc.)? Also make sure if you aren't using the mceafo variation of the skin, to disable the weatheroverlay plugin.

    Thanks

Boilermaker, I think I ought to slap myself for not completely following your instructions.. I believed I disabled the WeatherOverlay plugin, but just checked it again and it was enabled. So, once I disabled, all the symptoms have disappeared - MP starts fine, all the screens display correctly and I even have "shutdown" buttons on the main menu screen, which I didn't have before..

The only problem that is still there is that when I watch TV there is a black bar on the left of about 50-70 pixels (i have 32" LCD with DVI connection, so I'm just trying to guess based on the size of display)... Do you know anything about this? I don't remember it being there before the skin install, but I just switched back to default skin and the bar is there too.. So, it's not skin problem.. Weird..

Once again, sorry for false alarm.. I guess I should install and play with software after midnight anymore..

    :sorry:

no problem...i had to edit my response to include check the weather overlay because it wasn't the first thing to come to mind too.

If it was a black bar on both sides in fullscreen tv, i would say check the default zoom setting in the television section of the configuration. Post a screen shot if you get a chance...if i cant help you could use the screen shot in a new support thread for the problem.
