    Hi,
    SciDoctor, do you use vista?
Your system specs points to W2Ksp4, the fix was only for Vista users.

    Regards

    Hello,

Vista install the personnal setting on C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal or C:\Users\All Users\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal it The same.

If you want to have your Setting back where you want and avoid Remote; XMLT; Thumbs etc Issue, Just right click on the install or SVN files and run it as administrator.

hope it can help Vista Users...

This maybe true, but as i am the administrator account, activated on first install of Vista and setup account deleted, install still points to the wrong directory, this was fine upto and including svn 6\9, somewhere between that and the 12\9 it has changed the install path from Prog Data to Prog Files for the ehome transceiverlist.xml.

ps. this also applies to the capturecarddefinitions.xml as well.

only found this out because i wanted to use xface skin :D

Same here. For me SVN from sept 10 still works, then I tried SVN from sept 27 to test XFace skin 1.0 and things were weird. First sign was a blank screen when selecting TV (with TVE3), then I found that "database" and "thumbs" folders were under "Program Files" instead of "ProgramData". And btw, I installed all as Administrator under Vista.

The one thing I haven't found yet in several threads on the MediaPortalDirs.xml file, is why it is all of a sudden different from what it used to be, i.e. why are some of the personal data folders moved, and why is it difficult to get this fixed? Or will this be fixed in the next stable release after 0.2.3.0 RC2 (meaning it's something to do with the way SVN's work as opposed to a full release) ?

    Hi,
This it's because on vista all modified(personal) files are installed/stored in the "All Users\Users\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal" folder(MP 0.2.3RC2), svn it's based on xp setup & therefore this problem.

Btw, you only have to replace the MediaPortalDirs.xml from svn with the one from when you installed MP & all should be good again....

    Thanks for that info Roy!
That way I can try later SVNs and then play with the wonderful new XFace skin a bit more.
It just leaves me with one question; was there change in the SVN installer recently? Because I installed 0.2.3.0 RC2, and then the sept 10 SVN right after it with no problems (and all personal files are in C:\ProgramData, which replaces "All Users" on Vista). When I did the same procedure (started from scratch) with the sept 27 SVN, it put the personal files under C:\Program Files.
