Hey.

Well the issue is only useful really for people with my TV, I am not sure whether people suffer the same problem on different TVs, but the problem is suffered regardless of what program you are in or if you are in any whatsoever.

Basically the problem is that when you go into standby and then come out again - the TV doesn't automatically switch on - you have to do it manually. My program sorts this issue.

The way it does it, is that when the computer comes out of standby, my program changes the resolution to 800x600 and then back to the original resolution of 1360*768....this then causes the TV to automatically turn on for some reason.

Hope it helps.

    Hi hveijk,

This sounds like an excellent tool that I could really have use for. I've got two questions I'm sure you can easily answer:

    1. When I download version 0.9.69.0 I don't see the MediaPortal tab. Do I have to have MP installed to see this tab, or is there something else I need to do to enable it? (I do not have access to my PC with MP installed right now)

    2. I've experienced some issues with TV Server. Would it be possible to reinit that as part of the resume cycle?

    /Peter

Anyone had issues with MST tool when resuming from standby? On my system the screen blanking during shutdown seems to get "stuck" and when system wakes up the video output stays disabled. Without MST resuming from S3 is working ok.

Would it be possible to add a setting for that screen blanking?

tourettes - is this connected with your "display device is off when turning on PC" issue?

Hi, I think I have the same problem. After resuming, my screen is black, but I can hear the normal start sounds from my various devices (usb netcard, ect). However, the screen stays black, and after a while it goes into standby again.
This behaviour is only seen if an automatic resume is done (ie powerscheduler inside MP).
If I manually resume by pressing my power button on the PC - it resumes correctly.

    Hi,

I just installed and tested MST. I seems to work fine for me.

However, have one issue. I already had an autologin setup and didn't want to configure this in MST, but MST disabled my existing autologin? Would it be possible for it to detect the existing settings when it is first installed? I haven't tried uninstalling it yet. Will my previous settings be restored?

    Thanks for the great tool.

    hi there.....same problem with me.

i now got my system to wake up if i press the power button on my remote. but if i enable the power scheduler ( standby ) i have a black screen when my pc wakes up. if i enable power scheduler ( hibernation ) it seems to work.....but: when power scheduler sets the pc to hibernation i am not able to wake it up manually from my remote. any ideas???? working around for 2 month now....tried everything ( mst, startonwake, hibernation trigger, even the devcon tool ).....but nothing. i found out the two cinergy 1200 dvb-c cards i use are the reason for this problem. but i think its more a failure in mediaportal....sometimes everything works like it should if i restart mp before going to standby....well most times not :-(((

i know my post is not really right in this forum but i am hoping someone maybe able to help me

    i have a msi 7047 board ( via kt880 chipset ) with a athlon xp 2400 on it. 1 gb ram, a geforce 5200, 2 cinergy 1200 dvb-c cards, and a hauppauge mce remote

    greez andreas

well something else: can somebody tell me whats the different between pressing the power button on my remote ( whicj is set to standby ) and using the standby option in mp menue?? i have different reactions when using this both options

i hope someone out there understands my bad english.....lol

Just trying to track down if this blank screen problem is similar to the one I'm seeing..

If you run VNC to connect to the PC in this situation, are you able to connect?

I find when I get into this state VNC has difficulty connecting. Older versions of VNC return an error indicating it was unable to find a compatible DC, newer versions will start and connect, but the window displayed is 0 x 0 pixels in size.

As people have indicated when this happens MP is running taking keypresses, and making sounds, but the video is broken.

I've tried running powerstrip to reset the video on restart.
