    For Media keys on to work you need to enable Remotes -> Generic HID -> Use generic HID device (see attached image). In your configuration this is not enabled.

    Jasonwc, have you upgraded MP or done clean install when it stops working?

    :D

    Question is, if RC2 and/or RC3 update did indeed disable this setting again.
    Arion, is that possible?
    Setting is in MediaPortal.xml. Upgrade won't touch that file (otherwise all MP settings would be lost)

    Clean install will of course remove the file and Configuration will write a new one with defaults.

    Re: AW: Media Buttons (Play/Pause, Stop, Vol etc.) no longer work in 1.1.0 RC2 or RC3

    I am running a Dinovo Mini Keyboard with Mediakeys without problems. Did you check HID-Section of remote controles, because I experienced that this is reverted to unchecked sometimes by an update of MP....
    I had to enable this option to get the "special buttons" on my Keyboard to work.
    Nice finding!
    :D

    @jasonwc
    Please try and enable the HID option in the remote section of MP Configuration.
    If this setting got dissabled by an update, then we have a small issue there. :)

    This worked! Damn, that was an easy fix. Everything is back to normal.

    The problem occurred after doing a clean install of 1.1.0 RC2. However, I don't recall ever changing that setting before. The default must have changed unless I just forgot. In any case, it probably should be the default since it has no negative consequences and many people will not think to go to the Remote section to enable Media keys on their keyboards. I don't see any downside to supporting media keys. At worst, they won't be used. They don't interfere with anything.

    In the past, this option was enabled by default. But rtv changed that around 1.0.1 / 1.1.0 Alpha 1.
    Sadly I have no clue why.

    Will someone contact rtv because of that? Would be great if the final release would be ultra-compatible out-of-the-box ;)
