    Hi

The crash is occurring in the Intel video driver. Have you tried updating to the latest version?

Okay, well the crash is still occurring in the Intel driver component (igdumd32.dll). You've reported the crashing error with 1.2.0rc -->here<-- and the advice I gave you there remains the same. Another person who was having trouble with Intel driver crashes reported -->here<-- that a particular version of the Intel driver helped him. Otherwise I suggest that you try viewing TV with a codec that does not use DXVA (like FFDShow... or turn DXVA off) and report the issue to Intel. It may be connected to switching between channels with different video formats...

How do I turn off DXVA. Is it under TV codecs, drop down list and I choose Microsoft DVT-DVD Video Decoder, instead of MPC - MPEG 2 Video Decorder (Gabest).

    Hi again

You can't turn DXVA off with the Microsoft codec. Cyberlink's PDVD codec supports this, but not the Microsoft one - at least not within MP configuration (maybe there is a registry hack or something). You'll need to find another codec like FFDShow to try if the other driver hasn't worked for you...

Thanks for that suggestion. But I am about to install SAF v6.00. I take it there will be options within that to turn off the DXVA.

Sadly intel drivers truely suck and I am very angry at intel. Every driver of theirs I have tried crashes.

    Many thanks.

FFDShow comes in two varieties - there is a DXVA version and a non DXVA version. You use one if you want DXVA and the other if you don't want DXVA. I don't know whether SAF 6 installs one or both of these...

This may seem a dumb question, but would there not be many thousands of users who have intel HD2000 or HD3000 onboard GPU using media portal?

It seems the crashing issues are not widely reported on these forums.

I have no idea how many people are using MP, and even less of an idea how many are using the HD2000 or HD3000 GPUs.

Every driver of theirs I have tried crashes.
I wonder: do you only get the crashes in MP, or do they also crash in other software (media software, games etc.). Either way, surely there must be a way to give feedback to Intel?

It seems the crashing issues are not widely reported on these forums.
True - this is only the second report I've seen. The other is the one that I linked. It is hard to know whether that is just because people don't have these problems or they're immediately giving up on MP and not reporting the problems...
