or your system configuration.

Hm ... what audio codec are you using when watching TV? What you can do - via setting you can switch teh codecs and Audiorenderer within MP - you only need to stop playback when you change the setting and start it again. So fisrt make sure you have teh correct renderer and second try a different Audiocodec (Settings - TV)

I sorted it out, the media portal volume setting kept defaulting to mute for some reason, I couldn't see it because I had MO in full screen

its always something obvious
