    Why is there two backslashes in the path ?

    File name: 'C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal\\MediaPortal.xml'

    Sorry sebastiii .....still same issue of config closing down before the first screen after I did a new install with your revised .exe

    Yep because it will fail for sure with that extra one.
    Yeah, but i get the same error when i remove my MediaPortal.xml
    When 1 is present, it works fine.

    As a complete amateur surely it makes absolute sense.

    If your mediaportal.xml is there then the bit of the config programme which creates mediaportal.xml presumably either does not run or at a minimum the next stage of the process which looks for mediaportal.xml can continue since one is present in the correct location
