I just first read this thread. I have to say that the first thing that struck me, concerning the proposed "imp" mascot, was that it looks alot like the old "blackface" performers.

They were white performers who painted their faces black and left their lips pink or painted them white.

This may only be an issue here in the US, but it is no longer considered a good thing.

Here is a picture of an old blackface performer:

Wonderful. This has been discussed a lot and may I just say, that 'blackface' is in the eye of the beholder. It was designed as a TV face and if you ssee blackface, that's up to you. The second point, and one I make repeatedly here, is that my character is not a "Proposed character" at all. I have said often enough that he is a character I built for a skin for myself and have never promoted him as a possible mascot for Media Portal. My position has been one of exploring-other-ideas from the outset.

Thank you for shaowing us what a blackface performer looked like. Outside of the US we are all quite dim.

first let me say I like your little mascots very much. They look really cute and funny!

Did you ever think about letting your avatar guy not throw a tetris brick to the air but the MP logo? That would be nice to see I think. So maybe if you like that and have some time you could try a 3Dish brick-like MP logo and hand it to your avatar's hands
