Well - I have to admit. MP Lad is friendly looking (like a cartoon Dennis the Menace with freckles and the cowlick hair, OK it is an antennae) and I think maybe could be a positive WAF! He would have many opportunities for facial expressions!

@ParaDel: we need sort of a creature that represents the MULTIPLE media that MP is able to control! So the octo with MULTIPLE tentacles is ideal for that. Got it now, man? (just kidding ...)
