I've copied the file to the folder as stated, and the error message still comes up, although the debugger did run this time, i've attached the files generated...
MediaPortal 1.1.0 crashes on startup, new install XP SP3 (1 Viewer)

Panic over, I went through everything listed with a fine tooth comb, and I just needed to update DirectX, once that was done it was straight in!! Thanks for your help
