Maybe it would make sense to open a separate bug thread for this because the info and logs are currently widely spread over the forum...

Please open a new thread with as much information as possible. I cannot reprooduce such issue and currently that issue is not looked into at all (aswe don't have enugh information nor any team members have been seeing such).

Long time away from mediaportal, but I'm not happy with some parts of MS MC, so I'd like to give MP another go.

If I install the 1.1 Alpha and SVN, will I be able to "upgrade" to the RC, or will I have to uninstall and start afresh - ie will I keep the settings and so on ?

First of all, you sould install the svn on 1.1.0 beta1, not alpha. And it will not officially support upgrade from Beta to RC1, but workarounds will be possible afaik...

Well I just did a clean install of Beta + Latest SVN. I guess I'll have to do it again when the RC1 is there, or will I be able to keep doing the SVN updates to have the same effect?

No, SVN's are usually based on a specific MediaPortal release.

Thank you, do you know off hand which older svn to install to get latest tsreader without problems, or should i just use the tsreader from 1.1 beta?

TsReader from 1.1 Beta works pretty well for me here.
You can get it from SVN \ Tags \ ...
