Therefore the current version is getting a lot of internal testing. There _might_ then be another public SVN build, which would effectively be RC1 if there are no major show-stoppers.

I think there will be another SVN. But that's just me...

Might be. But according to infinityloop's post it should be the last. Unless another major bug is found I hope the internal testing goes well and RC1 can be released.
I find the latest SVN (8/1) to be the most stable and best release so far.
