Is there any way to get MediaPortal to spit out a "dropped frames" report?

I use MPEG2Repair to analyse the .ts stream files. Under Win8 32bit I didn't notice anything unusual. Win8 64bit shows frame loss at a predictable time into streams - 5:30min into 192kb audio recordings, tried 3 different USB sticks and a PCIe 7010ix, all behave the same. Still don't know if it's Win8 misbehaving or from running MP on 64bit.

Do you have AMD Secured Virtual Machine option enabled and Hyper-V installed under Windows 8?

evr.log contains the dropped frames "report".

evr.log contains the dropped frames "report".

It only logs each dropped frame if the render stats are enabled (to stop the log filling up in situations when it has to drop lots of frames e.g. video fps is higher than display fps).

Hitting shift+1 when in the GUI will normally display the stats for the last video played (drawn, dropped etc).

It's only us sad cases who keep hitting 'shift+1' - normal people just watch the movie ;) :) (and since cinemas moved to digital projection there's no cue dots to look out for :D )

Hyper-V on/off makes no difference but I didn't think of killing the AMD support, I'll try that later. Going to be annoyed if I have to lose Hyper-V but probably time to build a dedicated PVR box. [EDIT]Restricting RAM below the 4Gb line doesn't affect this error either.[/EDIT]

Also worth pointing out evr.log will bury or hide source material frame loss, a full diagnosis needs both checks.

On Win8 render problems: On my vanilla 64bit install+K-lite codec pack (to get H264/mp4 support), Win8 had terrible problems building graphs at all - 30-60sec for mp4 files. After a lot of hacking around I replaced the LAV filters and it got better, but still not perfect. That might explain why MPC-HC also has problems. ATM I'm running just the LAV audio codec with ffdshow+MPC internal in MPC-HC64 and having no real problems. Can't speak to whether 32bit is also affected but LAV seems to cause problems here.

Bingo! Killed it and all test recordings this afternoon seem unaffected. Strange it affected Win8 even with Hyper-V disabled though.

One caveat: I went back through the last few days recordings (after Alpha->RC update) and saw the error occur less - perhaps 50% vs 95% of recordings. Did something change in TVServer 1.3.0RC from the Alpha to cause that?

I upgraded from 1.2.3 to the 1.3 RC, but the TV-Server still says its version is 1.2.300.0. Is this correct (or lets say a known problem since something is wrong obviously)?

That is 1.3RC. The final version will be 1.3.0. Until that is released version number will not be changed (.1xx is alpha release, .2xx is beta and .3xx RC)

This was the solution in my system also! How did you know that @tourettes?
and did it change from beta to rc1 or is it a problem from/with Windows 8?
Windows 7 on the same system doesnt show problems with enabled amd SVM (Bios option)
