This was the solution in my system also! How did you know that @tourettes?

Installed Windows 8 on dev PC and started to see huge frame drops. Took four evenings to find out the root cause (thanks AMD and/or MS, I could have spend that time with something more productive).

and did it change from beta to rc1 or is it a problem from/with Windows 8?
Windows 7 on the same system doesnt show problems with enabled amd SVM (Bios option)

Not MP related, MPC-HC is affected as well.

Not 100% sure why Windows 7 doesn't have the issue, but it is most likely related to the Hyper-V that Windows 8 has (kernel probably has some hooks already when Hyper-V is not installed, who knows...)

Thanks for saving my time, because i was nearly installing windows 7 again, but now i can use (hopefully) windows 8 "productive" ( for media consuming).

Yes i remember there is some special virtual pc stuff included in windows 8...

Installed on WHS2011 SP2 OS on a HP Microserver using a Sony PlayTV device installed as a Eye TV Diversity Capture dual tuner card. So far so good, hoping that it resolves the hanging TV Service issue reported by others.

Well after a full week, it's still stable and I love it!! Unfortunately enabling EPG retrieval still crashes the 'TVService' Service after a while so this is switched off and I'm using the excellent WebEPG plugin instead ... great product guys, well done!

Just curious, but anyway to track the progress of MP 1.3 final? Been desperate to reinstall my pc with the final version. But i can't seem to find any open issues.

What's happened to 1.3.1 ??....Just noticed the April release date for this has been removed from the roadmap.

canceled because planned changes are too large for one minor release.
