I have WiX 3.9 installed here. I think same as on our build server. Will check this further.

@Sebastiii can you check the installer from first post? I've updated my local WiX to 3.9 R2 and created a new setup. Let's see if this changes anything.

There is also WiX 3.10 RC available, which I would try as next step, if it is still not working.

Did an upgrade to my Server Only setup.
All went well (have not tested with a client yet) from what I see but....

Service Monitor is not shutdown by the installer... Bet an uninstall will also have issues
    ServiceMonitor.jpg

Ran into an error that Setup was not able to Close the requested Application.
It does Not tell you what the application Or Files are that are open....
Just saying ok and the installer continued
    App Close.jpg

Can you please disable this message? I have not had any issues with Setup TV on Windows 2012 Server

Log Collector works..... hmmm, there are old logs in it from prior to this install Upgrade

    Just did an uninstall.
Does not stop and or remove the running MP2-ServerMonitor process
No warning given yet the uninstaller registered as completed

Now to figure out how to removed it......

    EDIT:
Got the Server Monitor stopped and uninstalled.

Setup TV now includes the Log folder MediaPortal TV Server
When you start the Setup TV, the log file SetupTv is still written to
    C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MP2-Server\Log
    instead of C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MediaPortal TV Server\log

After clean install I started, configured and closed Setup TV.
Then I restarted the MP2-Server process

The following error is listed inside the Setup TV log file but does not give enough info to know what process needs assistance

[2015-08-02 07:13:30,373] [198350 ] [SetupTv ] [DEBUG] - could not set priority on tvservice - the process might be terminated : Index was outside the bounds of the array.

[2015-08-02 07:15:06,265] [294241 ] [SetupTv ] [DEBUG] - could not set priority on tvservice - the process might be terminated : Index was outside the bounds of the array.

@Sebastiii thanks for posting logs. Unfortunately I have no idea yet about the cause.

Are you able to compile MP2? Then you could try the "inner installer" (the orginal msi), here referred to a "MainPackage". To explain this: the new "bootstrapper" is a kind of wrapper around multiple packages: our dependencies and the MP2 MainPackage.

What would be of interest: does the msi installs properly? (I guess it will)

So we (read: I) need to check the bootstrapper project then.
