Did your IP address change in mean time? there is a configured server with another IP than the current one. This leads to canceling initialisation.

You should first check if you can change the IP configuration.
Or you can delete the existing TV-database and start a new configuration (including card setup and channel scans etc.):
    • Stop MP2-Server
    • delete C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MP2-Server\Database\MP2TVE_3.s3db file
    • delete C:\ProgramData\Team MediaPortal\MP2-Server\SlimTVCore\v3.0 folder
    • Start MP2-Server, new defaults will be created (DB+Tuning details)

@morpheus_xx: thxs for your fast reply.

Indeed the issue was caused by a changed IP configuration. I changed the hostname of my clean Windows 10 Installation and therefore got assigend a new IP configuration via DHCP. Now I switched to fixed configuration to make sure for the future ;-)

Your advises have been correct, but I had to do a "repair" of the installation afterwards, because the connection details to the mysql database have been missing as well. Now everything works.

Maybe you should improve the error handling for this Situation and tell the user that it is caused by a changed IP configuration (or at least enrich the exception details for this Situation with more information).

    Hello @morpheus_xx ,

I just tried the install a new time. Sadly the installer MP2-setup-logging.bat is not doing anything on my system. The installer opens and closes immediately. MP2-setup.exe works. So no install logs available.

    Regards,

    Hi
is there a solution to fix this?!?

most likely, since I have it working.

Some info about MP2-ClientLauncher.exe link below
    http://wiki.team-mediaportal.com/2_MEDIAPORTAL_2/2_Setup_Guides/InputDevices

    /EDIT
    Run MP2-ClientLauncher.exe.
In the bottom right corner of the screen you will have an MP2 icon.
When you move the mouse pointer to the icon you can read "MediaPortal Tray Launcher"
    It looks like this.

Use the right mouse button. You can choose autostart or not.
Check that you have not chosen "Remove from Autostart"

OK, I'm working with this snapshot to get my channel scan working, and it did. I created a channel group and tried previewing channels, and got a popup "mfc120u.dll missing..." I reinstalled the C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable, and now when I tried to preview a channel it fails with "Preview failed: GraphBuildingFailed. Advice? Is there a library I can install to resolve this?

    Hello again

    I reinstalled the C++ 2010 SP1 Redistributable
mfc120u.dll probably relates to the Visual C++ 2013 redistributable, so I'm not sure that this was helpful.

Did you reinstall the x86 (32 bit) version?
Note: MediaPortal needs the x86 (32 bit) version, not the 64 bit version... even for 64 bit versions of Windows.

Post log files. We normally need log files to be able to help with problems.

    Regards,

Thanks mm. I just installed the 2013 x86 version, and I'm getting the same "GraphBuildingFailed" error. I also notice I have many versions of the C++ libraries on my machine: several versions of 2008, the x86 version of 2010, and both the x86 and x64 version of 2013.
    Log attached this time
