i had use the search but found nothing, that will help me.
my prob is:
i have connected a dolby 5.1 / dts receiver over S/PDIF optical to my Laptop.
for that i have installed the AC3-Filter.
the filter is configurated, that all sound will be send directly to the S/PDIF, equal if it PCM or multichannel.
with my filemanager (Total-Commander) i can play a Stereo-MP3 and it will be played as dolby 5.1 / dts.
the same with the tv-server.
i can take preview on a tv-channel and the sound is in 5.1 / dts.
only mediaportal will play in PCM.
in the mediaport client configuration i have set the audio out to S/PDIF in every avaiable audio codec, but nothing happend.
if i set the codec to AC3 ihave complete no audio inside of mediaportal.
in one topic, that i´d found are some pic´s with a setup for multichannel-output over S/PDIF, but this setup won´t work for me.
i hope you can say what is wrong with my actual setup.

here some screenshoots of my setup (MP and AC3-Filter:

I had lots of fun setting up my amp via SPDIF too then eventually found the output was disabled in a setting in the mixer.

The shots you posted look like you've found all those though, but don't forget the 'MUTE' on the taskbar!

One thing you can check is you should be able to see light at the end of the SPDIF cable if you unplug it from the amp (hold your hand in front of the cable DON'T LOOK DOWN IT!!)

If you see light (on mine it's red) then the amp is either not recognising the signal or there is a problem on the amp side.

If you can see light from the PC card but not the other end of the cable then the cable is faulty, they are easily broken.

Also make sure you are using the correct connector on the card if there is more than one.

    hope this helps

    Reinstall AC3Filter.
Change your Television audio decoder to AC3Filter again.

You don't need to change MPA or Monogram AAC decoder settings.

Also, sometimes it pays to select the audio card being used instead of "Default DirectSound Device" in audio renderer. I have found this a problem in the past until I set the default Direct sound within Windoze as well.
