    Few differences if I change the number of input and output channels from xonar dx audio center.
    (2->2, 6->2,6->5+1)

    Either drivers are buggy or the speaker configuration that works with NVIDIA 5.1 is not compatible with the Xonar. I'll build a test binary this evening that has different speaker configuration mask for testing (need to add it as an option so it will be better for testing in future / other cards as well).

    If the different speaker configuration mask (for 5.1 and 7.1) solves the issue we might need again one ugly registry setting - or maybe there is a way to query the supported speaker configurations from the driver?

    Good Morning,

    how can I "install" a newer Version? Must I unregister the old audiorenderer and how?

    regsvr32 /u mpaudiorenderer.ax for the old one and the regsvr32 mpaudiorenderer.ax for the new one. But just copying over the old file should work as well (there shouldn't be any interface changes).

    Exclusive Mode (cheap version) now works on Nvidia :D. Unfortunately there has been some microglitches introduced with v8/9, nothing at all shows in the logs when it is happening and my ION isn't up to showing the graph. I'll regress the directshow helper back a few versions and see if I can pinpoint the introduction of the stutter.

    Added support for testing the alternative speaker masks with 5.1 and 7.1 speaker configurations. At least Nvidia reports different supported modes with the 5.1 ones (alternative wont work.). For 7.1 Nvidia accepts both. The 5.1 is buggy since MS documentation says that driver developers needs to take care that both are supported since older applications could use the old channel mask (0x63).

    Yes, it should be the dshowhelper, unless audio renderer has grown more CPU hungry. Please test as well with the DS audio renderer.
