tourettes, apologies for lack of feedback, and thank you for your work on this.:D

    GPU - GTX460
    Audio - Asus Xonar D2

Been testing this most of the week, and have to say i'm impressed, obviously have to keep WASAPIUseEventMode at 0, but video has been nice and smooth so far, and audio has fine, with no pops and crackles, and hasn't totally cut out on me like it did when using ReClock.

I did have to correct minor sync issues with my receiver when using ffdshow as the audio decoder, but it looks like a ffdshow thing, as sync is fine when using MPC MPA Decoder.

Would there likely be any issues with using Cyberlink PDVD10 Audio Decoder, or the Arcsoft HD Audio decoder, as i wouldn't mind getting trying to get them working.

The new versions are really good. It's smoother than the final MP 1.1.0 .

Also I have sometimes slowups und the last time black screens when I start to show TV. Hard to say where the problems came from, because the htpc was running really good in the past. A restart solves the black screen problem. But I also updated and tested much. So the problems can also be selfmade :) I realized that my tv-signal is sometimes not good or not good enough. Than I get corruption of the picture and hickups in the sound. The wiring seems not to be the best (DVB-C), also I tried almost everthing for me is possible to solve this ugly problem.

Powerdvd-codec (saf) and ffdshow (saf) and the ati drivers have also some curious effects. The SAF author do resizes at slow resolutions with lanzos and ffdshow that makes pc slow and make color corruption with satturated red (GUESS that SAF is the problem), while powerdvd seems to flicker with dxva and to stutter without dxva. Deactivating of the feature seems to help, also after the last updates now I have again no problems with resize-Feature. All problems are mainly on TV. Sometimes it runs smooths, sometimes not. This gets really on my nerves. Seems all to be voodoo :D

With more time I will try to sort the problems out. But the hope is here, that sometimes a good update will come that will solve all my problems ;)

All video-content from hdd and not from TV is really smooth. DIVX,h264, sd to hd with stereo/dolby surround/dolby digital with no problems. Also my test-samples from dolby played for the first time smooth with my pc configuration. This is the shinning other site of the htpc. So I think you and the other guys done a really good job with the Audio renderer. Also SAF Author, ffdshow Authors, and ATI done a good job.

    People, we need feedback!

Währe nicht schlecht wenn es auch einen Beitrag in deutsch geben würde oder mal eine Hinweis im deutschen Forum.

Unfortunately having a non-English thread would make giving feedback back to me impossible (I wont be using Google translate to traslate posts :)) After all this is just a beta testing thread.

Could you poat the system specs for those three PCs? It will help other people and me to troubleshoot possible issues in the future (just audio card, drivers, GPU, used codecs and the connection type from audio card to amp).

Imho MP does not need resampling function . time stretching is better but it's my opinion others could not agree with me.

Resampling is still needed to overcome AC3 or audio HW limitations in sample / bitrates. For example currently if AC3 is enabled only 44.1 / 48.0 KHz audio streams are possible without resampling (limitation of the AC3 standard itself).

Re: AW: Re: MediaPortal Audio renderer - better video playback quality

I read about EVR - so it's only for Vista/Win7 and testing with XP doestn't help, right?

Yes, we are currently focusing only on Windows 7 (or Vista) with the audio renderer development. There is no VMR9 support for the advanced v-sync controls at all ín the VMR9 presenter code in the dshowhelper.dll, WASAPI is not supported in XP and and EVR in XP is software only (and has tearing since no exclusive mode is used). In short, XP is not currently targeted for testing (and probably not in the future either - we simply dont have resources to support almost 10 year old OS especially when Windows 7 os far superior in all areas what comes to video and audio playback).

Sure - also thanks a lot for your great work.

    Systemspecs:
    All:
    - Using latest MediaPortal SVN
    - Windows 7 64bit
    - Audiocodec: ffdshow / SAF 5
    - Vid Codec: Power DVD 10 / SAF 5

    HTPC 1:
    - ATI 5450 only for Video (do not use audio through HDMI)
    - ATI Cat 10.9
    - Onboard Realtek Chipset for Audio
    - orig. Realtek v2.52 Drivers
    - SPDIF from Mainboard is connected to AMP

    HTPC 2+3:
    - ATI onboard 4200
    - ATI Cat 10.9
    - connected via HMDI directly to TV without an AMP (so only stereo sound)

    Hope that helps.
