I have been using mediaportal for ages. Bought a new laptop win 10 64 bit, 6 gb ram and 2gb radeon m530 series. i7 7th generation.
Mediaportal 1.18.0 currently installed.

Problem is i only configure mp tv series and moving pictures in Mediaportal. and now when i play any of my movie or series collections, mediaportal crashes. I tried fiddling with the codecs in mediaportal configuration and sometimes it just somehow works. Next day it starts crashing as soon as click a movie or series. Once again i simply fiddle with settings and it works again. but next day gone.
Please help me as Mediaportal has been something amazing in my life and now i have to live without it.

Note: I saw some update for windows 10 mentioned in another thread. I tried downloading n installing it but it says i cant install it. However i dont think it should matter becuase my laptop is updated till the version before creators fall. I reverted back from creators fall as it made my system slow.

The logs have been attached.

    Hello

If any program crashes, check the Windows application event log to find the cause. ;)

    In this case:

So, the crash source is mpcSubs.dll (MPC HC subtitles).

You can workaround the crash by disabling/avoiding use of MPC HC subtitles engine.

I also suggest to read this thread:

Hey man, working around the idea of a subtitle issue, i entered the settings of mediaportal and set the plugin to automatically select codecs. (had done this from configuration previously but it was a temporary fix) and now everything seems to be working perfectly. Thanks a lot! God Bless
