When I am watching a DVR-MS file, everything works okay. But when I try to step through it, MediaPortal crashes.

When I rename the extension of the file to 'wtv', stepping through the file works fine. When I rename it back to 'dvr-ms', MediaPortal crashes again.

I attach two log files, but I'm not sure they are any help.

I tried this with a DVR-MS file on my MP 1.18f system. All forms of skip and fast wind work OK:

step forward, small step forward, big step forward
step backward, small step backward, big step backward
    fast forward: 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x
    fast rewind: 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, 32x

The only unusual aspect is that fast-forward/fast-rewind take about 4 seconds to start winding after pressing the button on the remote (TS files start winding almost immediately).

    Hi CyberSimian

Good to hear from you again.

This problem is occurring with version 1.19.

One interesting aspect of this, that I hadn't appreciated before your reply, is that MediaPortal crashes when I use the remote control rather than mouse - can't imagine why. This happens when I press fast-forward or fast-backward and when I press Next (skip forward) or Previous (skip back). The screen freezes then Media Portal crashes with an application error. I have attached the windows log entry for this error.

I also think it odd that, by simply renaming the file extension to 'wtv' without converting the video to WTV format, the issue goes away. I have tried this with several DVR-MS files with the same result.

I hope that helps to home in on the issue.
