Really surprised though the bug has made it this far but I think most DL their movies and store them as mkv's (or equiv.) rather then straight up rips from originals in native format so it's probably not a problem that pops up often. Glad to see it's getting some attention now!
More commonly, people actually use the internal player so bugs with using an external player go unreported => unnoticed.

do I just replace the stock core.dll with this version?
Yes. Close MP and configuration first, then replace. Make sure you take a backup of the original.

These are actually ISO images, not folder structures.
Tested that patch with both ISO and folders - it works. Please try it and report.

Also, these are TV Shows, so essentially I'm using MP-TVSeries to fire these ISO's.
Not sure whether that could make a difference. If you find the patch doesn't work, try opening the files from the videos section.

True. But I can't see it being 100% minus just luci5r and myself.

I'll give it a go and let you know how it works out. Thanks for your efforts.

Just tested new core.dll and everything appears to be working perfectly.

    Thanks!

Let me give it a shot & I'll report right back.

And BTW, yes I agree with MM & yourself -- most people are either using MKV rips or Internal player, which is why this issue has never garnered that much attention. I have the entire X-Files DVD Set, that's about 8 Seasons and 6 Discs per season. I just preferred to rip them as ISO's (They have a lot of extras & stuff) as opposed to getting individual episode MKV's, etc.

Replaced old Core.dll with new Core.dll, now Mediaportal or Configuration won't launch. They crash as soon as I click them.

Reverted back to original Core.dll and they both work fine again.

Is it because I'm on my Mediaportal 1.7.1 Hotfix and maybe the Core.dll is for a different version?

Anyhow, attached is a patched Core.dll for MP 1.6 final
...so yes, the problem is that you're using MP 1.7.x.

Bummer! Any patch for MP 1.7.x?

Alternatively, now that it has been established as a persistent issue, despite the low popularity, can we push towards getting the fix in MP releases? It could be put in with the next hotfix or .x version release.

    Not from me.

If you read the latest posts in the other thread you'll see that's already happening.

I'll just wait for the next available update then. Thanks.
