AW: MediaPortal SVN-Snapshot:-01-08-2010 02-15h - Revision:24669.rar

I have the problem that for playing TV (SD) always the PowerDVD9 filter is used regardless which codec I choose in the TV section.

Did I miss anything?

I found from the logs that the PowerDVD9 codec is always being added to the graph in addition to the selected one, and then it always uses this codec (I guess for merit reasons). I did not find any errors in the log so why is ht PowerDVD codec alway beeing added to the graph?

When using 1.0.2 this behaves different.

Thanks.

Seems I spoke too soon. After LiveTV had been playing for about 20mins, MP no longer responded to the remote or keyboard, although it was making the key sounds. Then the picture froze and I had to hard close it.

Things were working fine a couple of days ago until my PC crashed and I had to restore the HD from an image and then I reinstalled MP and copied my config files back to Documents and Settings. If there's nothing to indicate what's causing the problem in the logs, I'll try uninstalling MP completely and reinstalling from scratch.

Hi,
I still have problem with scanning DVBS channels. I found only "no singals" and "nothing found" transporders after channels scaning.
I did this test:
1. restart MP server
2. Scan DVBS channals = only "no signal" and "nothing found" status
3. scan manually one transporder with "nothing found" = same result = nothing found
4. restart MP server
5. scan manually same transporder = I found all channals
Logfiles are attached

after this test I tried manually change XML file and erased all "no signals" channels for this satelitte and I found all channels by one click
sorry for my english :-(
nice to see progress in developement of MP. The best SVN version :) Thank you
Pavel

If it's the same issue then maybe it's a race on which service gets to listen on port 554 first, so the problem may come back for you. I would suggest disabling the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service, that way TvService shouldn't have any problems binding to port 554.
Thx, I will do that!

However, shouldn't the default port be changed if it's used by Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service?

Well I guess that would be for the devs to decide on how to tackle the problem, the WMP Network Sharing Service is using the same port as 554 is standard for RTSP. I guess MediaPortal could change to an unused port other that 554 if the WMP Network Sharing Service is using it.

When I'm using DigitalRise (Twinhan Mantis) TV card driver newer the 1.1.0.300, I gets problems with TV Server. Sometimes the canel scan will not find any signal. After restarting the TV Server service, the canel scan finds the TV canels. After scanning I select any TV canel from the list for preview and I gets the fault message "unable to start graph". Always when I restart the TV Server service, I can preview any canel only one times before I gets the fault "unable to start graph". With TV Client it is not possible to watch TV using the DigitalRise card.
I made this test with driver versions 1.1.0.400, 1.1.1.700 and 1.1.1.800, the problem is always the same. Now I'm running MediaPortal with driver version 1.1.0.300, it works.
It seams that there is a bug in TV Server software.

Re: MediaPortal SVN-Snapshot:-01-08-2010 02-15h - Revision:24669.rar

Hi,

I am not quite sure if this is a MP or a video drivers issue, so I though it would be better to ask before opening a support topic.

The PC where MP is running is a laptop attached to my LCD TV via HDMI.

This is what is nagging me:

1) I need to pause a video that I am watching in MP.
2) While the video is paused, I switch to a TV channel in my TV, ie. I tell the TV to no longer display the HDMI input, but a normal aerial TV channel.
3) When later I switch back to the HDMI input on the TV, instead of the paused MP video, I only get a black screen on the TV.

On the laptop's display I get the black display, too. The only way to get MP back is to launch the Task Manager (CTRL+SHIFT+ESC), kill the MP process and restart it.

Some more details:

Windows 7 with latest updates
Intel Mobile Graphics Card with latest drivers
MP Revision:24669
You'll need to provide logs if you want that a dev looks into the problem.

Here you have the logs. Hope anybody can help. The first ones were gathered with a normal MP start and the second with a debug start.

Then maybe your problem is related to mine. I have a problem wich seems to be with my videodriver version and powerdvd codec. Audio starts but no video. The logs say

[Debug][MPMain]: TSReaderPlayer: waiting for vmr9 connection
[Debug][MPMain]: TSReaderPlayer: no vmr9 connection. Maybe we have a radio recording but expect video too so we suppose it's ok.

Checking the forum, the problems seems to be with mp 1.1.0 and powerdvd codec and videodriver. I have tried to change codec, but the problem remains. Maybe beacuse mp chooses powerdvd regardless on what I choose in the config.

lordarcane:

Maybe the other codecs I chose are no longer supported by tsreader and this is the reason why PDVD is always used?
But there is nothing in the logs that states similar.
Can anyone confirm if DScaler codec works?
Is FFDShow MPEG2 still blacklisted?
At least DScaler works great with MP 1.0.2 stable.

grubi.

Re: MediaPortal SVN-Snapshot:-01-08-2010 02-15h - Revision:24669.rar

In the TV section the button is ever showing "Start recording" (I am traslating), no matter if there is anything recording. If the recording is scheduled, current program, or to manual stop the only solution to stop them is use "Active Recordings", but somethime this has, not only stopped the recorded, but deleted the recording.

No information in the logs about the first problem (I amb triyng to reproduce the second problem).

Thanks.
