How to install MediaPortal SVN-Snapshots in short:

1. Install MediaPortal 1.0, not necessary if already done
2. Run the Snapshot-Installer. You should create a backup.
3. Run Configure. Sometimes the settings and database versions change from build to build, so you have to reconfigure your TV for example
4. Hopefully enjoy the new version
5. If not, restore your old files and you will have the former version back.

- Scrolling smoothness gains from increasing GUIFPS now,
- Tweaked setting range for more useful options, capped it to a maximum of 5,
- Made XML Property available for skinners: "scrollStartDelaySec" (Fadelabel and TextBoxScrollUp). While you might want some short info scrolling continuously it might be better for larger Textboxes (e.g. containing TV episode info / movie plot) to wait for 2 or 3 seconds until the scrolling starts.

EpisodeNum / SeriesNum exporting to xmltv format: According to xmltv DTD the series/episode/part number can be in one of two formats xmltv_ns and onscreen (other format may be used but are not defined in xmltv DTD and TVServer does not support them). If no format is specified in the "system" attribute (which is the case with WebEPG), xmltv_ns is assumed.
Now according to the xmltv_ns system the value should be of the form [series].[episode].[parth], where [] denote an optional field. Note that the dots are NOT optional. WebEPG on the other hand exported episode numbers in the format [[part.]episode[.series]]

Epoch time is not handled correctly: If the site timezone is UTC-8 everything works fine, but for any other time zone, programs may be added to the wrong date. I have changed the conversion to epoch date/time to take into account the site timezone. WebEPG_EpochTime_Patch fixes this.

- Code cleanups,
- Reset "memory" of textboxes: if a property changes (e.g. browsing TV Guide) the text will restart to scroll from the beginning
- Increased defaults to full render speed (Just right for the default of 25 GUI FPS - at 50 GUI FPS "3" would be working better). The following might be interesting for optimal results: Similar to movie refresh rates you want to use a "matching" divider. Setting 5: every frame is rendered, 4: every 2nd, 3: every 3rd, etc

Thanks for the SVN, great graphic permormance improvement!

Since the previous SVN there is a problem with hebrew language. Characters disply fine, no "???" or something, but the words are all doubled and backwarded
I mean, if it supposed to write "mediaportal" it show"mediaportallatropaidem". Only in hebrew of course.

I can't attach logs, because watchdog keeps crashing on me, but from disscussing this bug in our local forum, it seems like everybody suffers from this problem, weather it's XP or Vista 32\64.

It doesn't change anything if we check the "language contains right to left cars"

According to REV 21897:
useChineseHack = reader.GetValueAsBool("debug", "useExtendedCharsWithStandardCulture", false)

So if you do not have a customized skin for RTL layout which comes with a proper fonts.xml you might want to try adding this to the debug section of your MediaPortal.xml:

my feedback

I have just upgraded from 22029 to 22162.
Some feedback:

1. Crash on basic home is fixed (as was expected after the DEV feedback )

2. No sound on analog TV. I know Spragleknas had the same problem and MisterD pointed the problem out. Just to share it here for others to see as well. The problem was that after the upgrade, my channel audio source was set to tuner while I am not using the tuner for it. See screenshot for the fix.

That's the wrong file...
Use the Configuration app's button at the top menu to open the user files. The MediaPortal.xml in there will have the debug section.
Do not forget to delete the font cache before starting MP...
