happened again between 21:47 and 21:50, logs attached (MediaPortal.bak renamed to MediaPortal.log this time)

What happened? From logs I would say that playback paused for 3 minutes, but the logs doesn't give any clue why it would have happened.

this doesn't look normal to me as well:

    18-11-2009 21:47:37.595 [7e0]Aud/Ref : 2737.830, Late Compensated = 871.756 ( 1.240 A/V buffers=02/06), Clk : 870.516000, State 2

That is normal behavior when changing channels (not sure how about pause in multiseat). Audio and video needs to be synced and those log lines are just telling that.

while watching a recording, the playback freezes and MediaPortal does not respond for like 20 seconds (after 5 seconds I pressed the stop button, but it still takes some time before it takes me back to the recorded tv screen.

I have a singleseat configuration, could it be MediaPortal is freezing because audio & video are out-of-sync to much ? saw this log entries in my other logfiles as well.

and again a recording playback hung, this time at 21:02

for some reason MediaPortal creates a new logfile (MediaPortal.log) saying MediaPortal is starting up bla bla.
that's why I again renamed MediaPortal.bak to MediaPortal.log again (attachment)

hope this info is interesting (evr.log):

Seems that EVR renderer is not receiving anything to render for a long period. Or PC's clock jumps oddly. Or there is huge hang in some place (OS / drivers / MP). Unfortunately logs doesn't tell anything why such happens.

19-11-2009 21:02:52.519 [3d0]Scheduling sample from the past (58991 ms, last call to NotifyWorker: 59135 ms)

Thats really odd. Such cannot happen unless MP really starts again. So, I'm wondering what is really happening.

girlfriend is watching a recording, it plays for some time and than it freezes, told her not to touch the remote this time to let MediaPortal react again after 20 or 30 seconds.
when MediaPortal reponds again it takes me back to the recorded tv listing, after that I pressed the green button and normal exit'ed MediaPortal to collect the logging (MediaPortal.log is a new file telling it's starting up again )

can I check something else ?

watchdog is NOT enabled because the option is unchecked (the automatically restart MP option is checked tho).

things I run in my systemtray are:

Realtek HD Audio Manager (running earlier also on Vista)
ATI's Control Center quick launch something (running earlier also on Vista)
Logitech SetPoint (running earlier also on Vista)
TouchKit (for my HTPC's touchscreen) (running earlier also on Vista)
SpeedFan (running earlier also on Vista)
IRTrans (running earlier also on Vista)
LogMeIn (running earlier also on Vista)
Girder (using it for a couple of months)

also I added a second FloppyDTV tuner a couple of months back

only thing I can think up is that DXVA Checker is freezing my system now and than and than shit happens, sigh, will reinstall my HTPC when MP RC is out than.

    Stop a recording from TV

    Hi,

not really new and I could detect it also on former versions.
For recording of tv streams I add 15 minutes of additional recording for safety.
If I stop the recording via Stop recording from the TV menu it could take up to minutes until the recording is stops. Sometimes I need to wait the full 15 minutes since the TV menu shows already Start recording.
    This is quite nasty.
I can not confirm that but from the feeling I think the time untilo a recording stops is somehow dependemd on the length of the movie. If I stop a movie right after start typically everything words fine.

Maybe of interest I am Using KNC One DVB S2 with the latest driver

I use this feature frequently, and it always stops the recording within 2 seconds, and I have a 20 minute post-record setup. It sounds like a problem that is unique to your setup?

Are these scheduled recordings that you are attempting to stop - as distinct from manual recordings?

    Hi,

I can imagine that this could be caused by the used DVB card.
But my setup should be quite standard. Bythe way this also appears with the latest version and I did an fresh installation of 1.1 Beta followoed by the latest SVN installation.
I`ll add details of my configuration later today
